AgQuip 2026 was our first time meeting so many Australian agricultural machinery businesses in one place.

From August 18 to 20, we were in Gunnedah, New South Wales, with our agricultural machinery on display and our team talking with dealers, distributors and other people working in the industry.

By the end of the show, we had spoken with 28 companies and customers.

Some conversations were short. Others lasted much longer than we expected.

That was actually what we wanted from the exhibition.

We did not go to Australia simply to put our machines on a stand and wait for enquiries. We wanted to talk to people who sell and use agricultural machinery in Australia and get a better idea of what they need from a supplier.

One of the more detailed discussions we had was with Landpower, and we also spent time talking with Clark Equipment.

Both companies have been working in the Australian equipment market for many years. We talked about the local dealer structure, customer requirements and the differences between the Australian market and some of the other overseas markets we currently serve.

There was a lot of information that we could not get from a product catalogue or an online search.

For example, when you are selling a tractor overseas, it is easy to focus on horsepower, transmission, hydraulics and price. But when you talk to a local dealer, the conversation quickly moves to other things — what happens when a customer needs a part, how quickly the dealer can get technical information, which specifications make sense for their customers and whether the manufacturer will still be available after the machine has been sold.

Those are the details we were interested in hearing.

We also met with more than 20 regional and secondary dealers during AgQuip.

We spoke with businesses from Pakenham, Lilian Rock, Kalbar, Baldivis and other areas. Their businesses and customer groups are different, so the conversations were not all the same.

Some were interested in tractors. Some asked about harvesting equipment. Others were more interested in the possibility of representing a Chinese manufacturer in their local market.

We exchanged contact details and have continued talking with a number of them since the exhibition.

There is still a lot to discuss before any of these conversations become a formal cooperation. That is normal.

For us, the important thing is that the first conversation has happened.

What we learned in Australia

After the exhibition, we had a better understanding of something that is easy to overlook when looking at Australia from overseas.

Australia is a very large agricultural market, but it is not one market with exactly the same requirements everywhere.

Different regions have different farming conditions and different types of agricultural businesses. Dealers also have their own customer base, service capabilities and product preferences.

That makes local partners particularly important.

We have worked with overseas customers for more than 20 years, and we have learned that a machine that sells well in one country does not necessarily need to be sold in exactly the same configuration in another.

This is something we will keep in mind as we develop the Australian market.

For example, our current tractor range covers 25HP to 120HP, but the most suitable model for a particular customer depends on much more than horsepower.

Engine configuration, transmission, hydraulic system, PTO, tyres, implements and the way the machine will actually be used all need to be considered.

You can see more of our current tractor range on our Agricultural Tractors page.

The same applies to harvesting equipment.

AGRO-TIANDA manufactures combine harvesters, including crawler rice combine harvesters. Our experience in different overseas markets has shown us that harvesting conditions can vary significantly, so understanding the local application is important before deciding on a machine configuration.

Our Combine Harvesters are developed for different agricultural applications and markets.

What happens after the exhibition?

This is probably the more important question for us now.

The exhibition itself lasted three days. The follow-up will take much longer.

We are keeping in touch with the companies we met and continuing to discuss products, pricing, specifications and possible cooperation.

Some of these contacts may eventually become dealers. Some may become customers. Some may simply remain useful contacts in the Australian agricultural machinery industry.

We are fine with that.

A long-term dealer relationship usually does not start with one conversation.

It starts with finding out whether both sides understand the market, whether the products are suitable, and whether the manufacturer can provide the support the dealer needs.

That is what we are working on now.

AGRO-TIANDA has been manufacturing and supplying agricultural machinery for more than 20 years. Our products include farm tractors, combine harvesters and agricultural implements, with customers in different international markets.

For the European market, we currently offer selected tractors with Euro V engines and CE, COC and E-mark certifications. For other markets, product specifications can be discussed according to local requirements.

We are now doing the same work for Australia — talking to local businesses, listening to their requirements and finding out where our products can fit.

A useful first step for AGRO-TIANDA

Looking back at AgQuip 2026, the number that stands out to us is 28.

Twenty-eight conversations is not a huge number compared with the number of visitors at a large exhibition.

But for a manufacturer looking to build a dealer network in a new market, the quality of those conversations matters more than the number of people who simply walked past the booth.

We had the chance to speak with two major agricultural machinery companies in depth and with more than 20 regional dealers.

We learned more about the Australian market than we knew before we arrived, and we came home with a group of contacts that we are still talking to.

That is a good place to start.

We will continue looking for agricultural machinery dealers, tractor dealers and agricultural equipment distributors in Australia who are interested in working with a manufacturer directly.

If you would like to discuss our tractors, combine harvesters or other agricultural machinery, you can contact the AGRO-TIANDA team through our official website.

We hope to see some of the people we met at AgQuip again — this time, perhaps, in a different setting and with a specific project to discuss.
